-
- <0> Are you old enough??
- --------------------
-
- Violent computer games have been widely discussed in various media the past
- years. There are some people who belive that there shouldn't be ANY games
- with violence and there are others who don't belive the crap about it being
- harmful.
- We belong to the latter.
- We belive it should be the right for ANYONE to choose what things they want
- to do, see or play, as long as it's not harmful to other people.
-
- However, there are some countries that have regulations about how old you
- must be to play certain computer games. It's impossible for us to keep up
- with what's legal and illegal in every country in the world, so the only
- thing we can do is warn you.
-
- Ok, here's our warning:
-
- ----------------------------------------------------------
- If you are under 18 years of age, don't play "Cybergames".
- ----------------------------------------------------------
-
- ...Gee, I really did scare the shit out of you there, didn't I...
-
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- <1> Distribution
- ------------
-
- "Cybergames" is a SHAREWARE program. You may freely distribute it as
- long as all of its files are included in their ORIGINAL form without
- additions, deletions or modifications. Only a nominal fee can be charged
- for the distribution of "Cybergames". It cannot be distributed as a part
- of any commercial product without written permission from the authors.
-
-
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- <2> How to register
- ---------------
-

- BIGGER and BETTER version of this excellent game. (More info bellow)
- Register by sending US$15 in cash or international check to the following
- address:

-
- When I have recived your order, I will send you the game within a few days.
- Please write your name and address VERY clearly, so that we can avoid any
- mistakes.
-
- You can only order by mail and with check or cash, but if you would like

-
-
- Some other reasons to contact me:
- We would just love to hear from ANY software company. We have lots of new
- ideas for more games to develope and it would be just fantastic if we could
- realize any of them and MAKE SOME MONEY in the process...
-
- We would also like to hear from development teams with SERIOUS projects.
- Give me a call or just send a E-mail, or why not a snail-mail letter...
-
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- <3> Features of the registered verision
- -----------------------------------
-
- Three disks packed with
- 35 levels
- more opponents
- more background graphics
- excellent Intro before the main intro
- excellent Game Over sequence
- excellent You Win sequence
- more weapons and improved bodyparts
- more things to throw
- more things to win
- Full 2 player mode
- Printed instructions
-
- and more...
-
- Also, like this version, the game is HD installable and runs on ALL Amigas
- from WB 1.2 (The lowest we have tested it on) with at least 1 meg of memory
- (512k chip and 512 k fast works just fine). There's no trouble running it
- on an AGA machine.
- The game has been designed to avoid boring diskswapping. It will take
- advantage of two or more drives, but can of course also be run using only
- the internal drive.
- "Cybergames" will work faster if you got a faster computer than the standard
- 68000, and you will get NO hassle even if you got fastrom, burst, cache or
- mmu.
-
-

-
- <4> Some words from the authors
- ---------------------------
-
- Hi,
-
- This computer game was designed by Bjorn Fogelberg and Johan Lundin of
- Cyberpunk Developments (CPD). We hope you like it and will be one of
- the registered users.
- "Cybergames" was originally made to be published by an English company
- and then a Swedish company, but after two crashed deals and various
- trouble with various lying, slimesucking software companies, we decieded
- to release it on our own as shareware.
-
- We would like to thank the following persons for their support and for being
- around:
-
- Andreas Gunnarsson (Jolly Cracker/XAKK = Zzlevo/Chalmers)
- Stefan Walter (Vivace/XAKK)
- Jenny Holst
- Andreas Ohlsson (Combat Maniac/XAKK)
- Arne Nielsen, Michelle & Anna Hoffset
- Heine & Helge

- Delta software
- Van Orbitsson at TRC HBG (The best studio around: +46 (0)70-5858432 )
- Everyone who still is an Amiga owner...
- and YOU, for playing this game...
-
- Happy headcutting and don't forget to try the spitting...

-
- <5> Instructions
- ------------
-
-
- <5.1> How to start the game:
- - - - - - - - - - - -
-
- The most simple way to run "Cybergames" is to reset your computer and insert
- the disk in one of your diskdrives. The game will now automatically be
- loaded.
-
- You can also run "Cybergames" from Workbench by opening the "cybergames1"
- drawer and click on the big icon labelled "mainintro".
-
- You can also run "Cybergames" from CLI or SHELL by typing:
- "Cybergames1:mainintro"
-
-
- <5.2> What to do when it says "Insert Cybergames savedisk"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
-
- Before the intro starts, there will be a requester which asks you if you
- want to load your your own highscores or use the default.
-
- To use your own hiscores, insert a empty disk (in any drive, of course)
- which you have previously named "Cybergames savedisk" and press fire on your
- joystick. If there are any hiscores on that disk, they will be loaded and
- used in the game.
-
- If you want to use the default highscores, just press the ESC button on the
- keyboard to continue.
-
-
- The intro is quite simple to understand, so I'll skip that part.
-
-
-
-
-
-
- <5.3> The main game:
- - - - - - - -
-
- You control your man by using a standard joystick. There is a scaffolding in
- every arena. This is to be used for climbing. You jump up on it by standing
- right- or leftmost of the screen (On the white plates) and pulling the joy-
- stick upwards.
- If you hang still for a while, you will get tired and will be falling down
- again. If you climb over you opponent and land on the other side of him, the
- players will automatically turn around so that they face eachother again.
- Then your joystick movements will be reversed.
-
- The energy level for each player is shown in the top of the screen. Player one
- to the left and player two to the right. The less energy you have, the more
- will be shown of the word DEAD. When it is filled, you are... Right...DEAD!!!
- Also in this area is the three things that you can throw at eachother.
-
-
-
- <5.4> One Player:
- - - - - - -
-
- Here you will face different opponents ranging in skills from mediocre to very
- tough to beat. This demo contains four different opponents on one location.
- There are 35 opponents and six locations in the complete game.
- Since this is a fightin game, the object obviously is to smash the other guy.
- You can either beat him with your weapon until he has lost all of his energy,
- or you can make it short by seperating his head from the body (A Swedish shave).
-
- You will get credits for every successful hit, and those credits can be used
- later for upgrading your body armor and weapons. The more difficult a hit, the
- more credits you will get for it. You won't get much cretits by decapitating
- your opponent at once (But you WILL get a time-bonus).
-
- You can carry three weapons that you can throw on your opponent. Those are
- for example a knife, laser, pot of acid, a blob, etc.
- Press SPACE to choose which one you wish to throw.
- When you have no more left to throw, you will SPIT at the opponent instead.
- (Must try this out, it's great fun!!!)
-
- When you have won one match, you will see how many credits you have collected.
- Then you can choose to either spend some of it on improvements by entering the
- cybershop, or build a pile for later and kick some a** instead.
-
-
- <5.5> The cybershop:
- - - - - - - -
-
- This is where you can buy new weapons, things to throw and improve your armor.
- The more opponents you beat, the more goodies there will be in the shop.
- There will only be displayed things that you can afford at the moment.
- For example, if a weapon costs 25000 credits and you only have 1200 when
- entering the shop, the weapon will not be displayed.
- As mentioned before, you can save your credits a couple of rounds, to be able to
- buy something expensive later on.
-
- This is how you buy!
- Use the joystick to move around the cursor.
- The big squares contains the weapons and armor that you can buy. The small
- squares conatins the things that you can throw.
- If you press fire one time, some info will be shown about the item.
- If you press fire one more time then you will buy that item.
-
- You can only buy one weapon at a time and hold a maximum of 3 things to throw.
- If you are holding one thing when entering, you may only buy two things and
- vice versa.
-
- A good thing to buy is more ENERGY, because your energy level will NOT recharge
- after a fight.
-
-
-
-
- <5.6> Two players:
- - - - - - -
-
- Use two joysticks and you can play against eachother. This demo has a timelimit
- which will restart the game after some time has elapsed.
-
-
-
- <5.8> Ingame keys:
- - - - - - -
-
- Keys that can be pressed during the course of the game.
-
- P Will pause the game. Great for review snapshots. Press P to unpause.
- Esc End game and go back to the intro
- F1-F4 Speed of the game. If you are playing on a faster computer than the basic
- old 68000 Amiga, you can speed it up a bit. F1 is slow, F4 is faaaaast!!
- Space Player one choose which item to throw.
- Return &
- Enter Player two choose which item to throw.
-
-
- <5.8> Joystick:
- - - - - -
-
- For player one. Player two's movemements are the same but reversed.

- <5.9> How to run this PAL game on a NTSC Amiga:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
-
- Cybergames was written for the European market, that means for PAL computers.
- Where PAL has 255 lines, NTSC only has 200, making the last 55 pixels of
- the game not visible for our American friends (And anyone elso who runs
- on NTSC).
- However, we have thrown in some quick things to make it possible to enjoy
- "Cybergames" in the States.
- The game automatically checks if it's running on a NTSC computer. If that
- is the case, it will move up some screens a bit so that you can see the
- players and other things which would have been hidden otherwise.
- If you don't like my presets, you can change it yourself by doing like this:
-
- When the game is starting and the players are walking in, press "P" to pause
- it. Now scroll the screen up- or downwards with the up and downkeys on your
- keyboard. When you're finished, press "P" again to leave the pause mode.
- You can also do the same in the cybershop to move around the computerdisplay.
- The next opponent screen will adjust itself to the main playing screen, so
- that you hopefully will see what you need to see...
-
- I'm sorry that you have to do this way, but it would be a huge amount of work
- for us if we should make a complete NTSC version, and I'm not sure it's
- worth it.
-
- Since this is only tested with my PAL computer and a 60hz emulator, I really
- don't know if it works in reality.
- If you have tried "Cybergames" on a NTSC computer, please send me an
- E-mail to let me know how it worked out.
